Pinewood Structures were selected to supply our Quantum™ high performance insulated timber frames to a multi-million pound regeneration of one of Swindon’s most deprived areas.

The £5m rejuvenation has seen new homes, shops and businesses built on land at Braydon Court, Penhill with the intention of injecting life back into the local community.

The project, for Westlea Housing Association, includes a mixture of 31 properties for rent, and seven homes for ‘part rent, part buy’, or shared ownership.

These dwellings were constructed using Pinewood Structures Quantum™ Insulated Timber Frame system delivering a U-value through the wall of 0.19W/m²/K and through the use of a fabric first approach the 25% improvement required for the Code for Sustainable Homes Level  was achieved. This was delivered without the need for renewable technologies due to the high performance walls and Pinewood Structures improved y-values (these are the measurement of thermal bridging)

Modern ventilation and heating systems all contributed to homes that will be both comfortable to live in and with lower energy bills than a home built to current standards.
