Whaddon Medical Centre was a great construction success. Pinewood Structures Ltd was contracted to design, supply and erect the timber frame structure of the Whaddon Medical Centre in addition to the installation of the floating floors. The state of the art surgery is unlike any other for it is architecturally inspiring, using roof lights and free standing corridors to create a bright, clean and relaxing environment for patients. The timber frame package was incorporated support for heavy equipment for the everyday work of the practice as well as a geometrically shaped triangular entrance with great angle precision. The internal walls and floor have exceptional sound insulation to ensure privacy and the high upper ceiling has acoustic panels to absorb echo. Through the construction, the practice is said to be 'defining the future of healthcare in Milton Keynes'.

Once the existing building was demolished, Pinewood Structures' role in the project was to design, supply and erect £0.2 million timber frame for the construction of the two storey medical centre and pharmacy with residential apartments above the latter. With a 28 day erection period, our labour force satisfactorily completed the project on time.

An additional bonus for the client was that by using timber frame from Pinewood Structures, the client would be assured that all timber used was sustainably sourced from FSC and PEFC accredited supply chains and audited through BM Trada's chain of custody certification procedures.
