At over a £2.0 million sub-contract project value, Buckshaw Village is one of the largest projects Pinewood has been contracted to design, supply and erect for. It is situated in a new residential and industrial area on the outskirts of Chorley, Lancashire. This prestigious £2.0 million project produced two hundred and one dwellings and now sets the benchmark for other modern retirement schemes. The client wanted to produce a 4 star hotel standard for the reception and communal areas as well as fully equipped and high standard apartments. In total the erection on site was 20 weeks and the labour force achieved the high quality finish the client was looking for.

Another key feature of this impressive construction was that the client was greatly aware of the project’s sustainable and environmental features and wanted to lessen the impact of the construction on the environment. By contracting Pinewood Structures, the client could be assured that the timber frame aspect was sustainable for we provide Chain of Custody procedure and certification proving that all timber used in this project and our Cambridgeshire factory come from managed sources in line with the FSC and PEFC criteria.

The size of this particular construction illustrates that Pinewood Structures has the dedication and capability to manage a project of such a size and produce high quality sustainable timber frame structures on time for erection on site and completion of the client’s project. Pinewood Structures is pleased to have taken part in such a revolutionary project for retirement homes and schemes.
