A typical timber frame structure is more than just a wooden frame. It is a sophisticated, highly engineered, multi-layered sandwich of modern materials comprising:

• a plasterboard lining
• a layer of high-performance, non-combustible insulation and vapour check
• exterior sheathing board incorporating a breathable membrane.

Timber frames are precision engineered under factory conditions, which means the room dimensions are more accurate. The dry plasterboard lining allows internal finishing to be completed more quickly and eliminates problems associated with plaster shrinkage.
