Wood is a natural, non-toxic resource that is recyclable and biodegradable. Converting timber into a useable building material takes far less energy and creates minimal pollution compared to other mainstream alternatives such as aluminium, steel, concrete and brick. Once installed wood is an excellent insulating material, so less energy is needed to heat the building. Hence timber frame structures are recognised by leading environmentalists as the most environmentally friendly method of building – less energy is used during construction and buildings are more efficient to run. In Northern Europe wood is classed as a renewable resource as far more trees are growing than are harvested. All Pinewood Structures’ timber is sourced from carefully managed forests where two trees are planted for every one that is felled. Pinewood Structures, The Station, Gamlingay,
