Quantum™ is Pinewood Structures high performance timber frame system.
Factory fitted insulation and a high performance breather membrane yield superior performance to mineral wool alternatives.
The standard Quantum™ specification delivers a U-value of 0.19W/m2K however this can be improved further through the addition of a 25mm internal service zone. This delivers 0.17W/m2K U-value. Extensive junction thermal modelling has also been carried out on our 0.17 system and offers much lower y-values values than can be achieved using accredited details typically 0.04 W/m2K.
U-values can be further improved down to 0.10W/m2K through the addition of face fixed insulation to either the internal or external face of the timber framed panels.
The key features are:
- High quality factory insulated timber frame walls
- U-value with brick outer skin of 0.19W/m²K as standard
- Wall thickness of 314mm (316mm with 2mm skim)
- U-values can easily be enhanced down to 0.10W/m²K
- Low thermal bridging, typically Y-value of 0.04 W/m2K
- Offer considerable C0² reduction in SAP 2009
- Reduces or possibly eliminates altogether costly renewable technology using a Fabric First approach
